Being free from technical rules and mundane theories
of art is critical for Mr. Watanabe to make his own
creations. A street scene with architecture is purposely
delineated "out of perspective" and his geometric shapes
are drawn organically, freehand. He finishes his works
digitally and the computer is an essential tool in the
same way that pencils, brushes, and pallets are to a
painter. Mr. Watanabe gives his worlds individuality
with a rhythm of colors, texture, and a harmony in composition.
