In 2006, ART as 1™ will make its debut as the creative directory of Japanese Illustrators. “ ART as 1 - Directory of Japanese Illustrators Vol. 1,” promotes an exchange between the fresh, extensive talent pool of Japanese Artists and the American Art Market.

We plan to print 15,000 copies, most of which will be distributed to Advertising Agencies and Publishing Art Directors throughout the U.S., as well as hitting bookstores’ shelves from coast to coast.

If you consider yourself a Japanese or Japanese - American visual artist (including figure illustrators and artists who use photographs as their medium), you are most welcome to join us! We are putting together a team of prominent judges to help us with the selection process so that our directory includes the highest quality and most interesting artists. We intend to print the top 250 illustrators from our applicants and the works will also appear in our “ARTas1.com” online database. Our directory is in English and we do have translation services available on demand.
